IRC

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. With IRC you can chat with SLUG members about anything. Often we will be idle but certain times during the day you will catch some live discussions. If you want to join the chat room using your web browser use the Mibbit IRC client.

IRC Clients

x-chat
A nice IRC client that works on both GNU/Linux and Windows. I would download the free version if you are using windows.
irssi
A command line client that most of us here use. Its powerful and simple to use.

Commands

There are some channel commands you can use such as:
!seen <nick>
to see when <nick> was last seen in the channel
!google <term>
will do a google search for <term> and post the first result
!define <term>
will post the definition of <term>
